Square or French handles

Coffee cans with French handles were produced by:  Coalport, Derby, "Pattern Book" Factory, Wedgwood and W*** (an unidentified maker). (Examples for makers in bold.)

Coffee can with small French handle where top attachment has no flange but joins straight into cup.  Pointed bottom attachment. Came with matching W*** style teapot (see plate 1010 in Miller and Berthoud, 1985).  . (m049  h60, w70 ) Miller

A coffee can with French handle with fairly rounded attachments each with a small raised ridge across them. No groove down edge of handle. No marks. Neat potting in white body with fair translucency. Worcester- Flight Barr & Barr
Worcester coffee can with French shaped handle with rounded attachments and a leaf-shaped thumbrest. Neat potting in body with poor translucency. Impressed FBB under crown mark (see right). Flight, Barr and Barr. (aj619, h60, w69.3, b44 (52.8) handle: v36.4, h16.9 (23.4), w8.1, 6.9, t378)
